The Lakeland Church
The Lakeland Church is a duly constituted Independent Baptist assembly belonging to no association, convention or denominational union. The Lakeland Church owns no head but the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Lakeland Church uses as its Articles of Faith and Rules of Church Polity only the Holy Scriptures as preserved to our generation in the Authorized King James Version of 1611 AD. The church membership consists only of those who have been baptized by immersion in water upon profession of faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God.

Regarding the Lord Jesus Christ, The Lakeland Church believes that He is the eternal creator God, together with the Father and the Holy Ghost, they being three distinct persons yet one God. That He became and is truly man, divinely conceived of a virgin, and therefore, the Son of God. That His death was effectual in putting away the sins of His people and securing their eternal salvation. That He arose from the dead bodily; and ascended into heaven bodily; that He is now reigning over all things at the right hand of God; and that He will return to raise the dead, just and unjust, and to judge the world.

We Are the First Century Church
In this day and age we often hear the claims of churches that say they are like the First Century Church because they are, basically, informal, come as you are, do not worry about anything, just bring your money and buy a coffee at the indoor Starbucks. We have all heard of these gigantic corporate organizations and we have all heard the claims; but I wonder, does that really describe the First Century Church? Further, when you look at the doctrine taught from the pulpit it is not even close to what the Apostles taught.

Contrary to the contemporary church with rock musicians and pastors that wear designer blue jeans and tee shirts and try to look more like a movie star than a minister, The Lakeland Church is the true First Century Church. We trace our lineage back through the Welsh Baptists of the Midland all the way to the first century AD. We hold to the ancient doctrine and practice of the First Century Church, and we believe the duty of the Church of God is to give all the glory to God and not to man.

Many may think our services are old fashioned, because we have no musical instruments, we sing a cappella, we do not have a lot of special programs, we do not have Sunday schools, we do not segregate the worship service, and the sermons are generally over an hour in length. However, we teach the Bible and only the Bible, we pay close attention to the definitions of the words and the grammar of the verses, we following the teaching of the Apostle Paul in 1 Thessalonians 5:21, "Prove all things, hold fast that which is good." And we teach TRUTH, which may not be popular in the 21st Century, but it is still TRUTH regardless of whether it is popular or not.

We invite you to come to one of our services and see for yourself what a true First Century Church looks like.

Sunday Church Services
Church services of The Lakeland Church are held each and every Sunday morning, beginning at 10:00am.
